Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute strategic business plans for assigned national retail accounts to achieve revenue growth, profitability, distribution expansion, and market share objectives.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers to strengthen partnerships and establish long-term business opportunities.
- Lead customer business reviews, annual planning sessions, joint business planning, and strategic negotiations.
- Negotiate customer agreements, promotional programs, pricing strategies, and commercial terms aligned with financial goals.
- Identify market trends, competitive insights, consumer behaviors, and customer opportunities to influence business strategies.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Category Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, and Operations teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.
- Monitor sales performance, customer investments, profitability, and financial results while recommending actions to improve performance.
- Analyze customer data, market analytics, and sales trends to develop recommendations and support strategic decisions.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for customer-related business issues and ensure effective resolution.
- Provide leadership and coordination across broader account teams supporting major retail partnerships.
- Mentor and guide account team members to ensure consistent execution of customer strategies.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, contractual, and organizational standards.
- Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture focused on customer success and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of progressive sales experience, preferably within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- Proven experience managing large national retail accounts and developing strategic customer partnerships.
- Demonstrated success leading complex negotiations, business planning processes, and customer growth initiatives.
- Experience managing customer financial performance, promotional investments, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple business teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation abilities.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to translate business objectives into actionable strategies and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel frequently and maintain a flexible schedule during key business periods.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate in high-performing environments.
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Master’s degree or MBA.
- Experience supporting major grocery retailers and multi-channel CPG businesses.
- Experience managing broker organizations.
- Familiarity with syndicated market data and retail analytics platforms.
- Competitive annual salary range of $127,700 - $185,150, based on experience, qualifications, location, and other business factors.
- Eligibility for an annual incentive bonus target of 18%, based on company performance and individual achievement.
