As an employee of USC, you will be a part of a world-class research university and a member of the "Trojan Family," which is comprised of the faculty, students and staff that make the university what it is.The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Cardiology, are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of General Inpatient Acute Care Pediatric Cardiologist at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Clinician Educator). The successful candidate will provide inpatient acute care cardiology and non-invasive imaging services at the CHLA main campus location and provide outpatient consultation to general cardiology and postoperative cardiology patients.Candidates should be clinically trained in general pediatric cardiology, with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects. The preferred candidate should have a broad exposure to, and familiarity with the assessment of newborns, infants, and children an inpatient setting, and be familiar with general pediatric cardiology outpatient concerns, including post-operative follow up following surgical repair of congenital heart disease. Candidates should display excellent communication skills, technical ability, and a willingness to participate in the increasingly utilized team-based-care approach in a community setting. A strong working knowledge of non-invasive imaging, and the ability to perform echocardiography independently is also a requirement for this role.This position will include inpatient cardiology acute care duties at CHLA with weekend and night on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis. On site and remote echocardiography interpretation duties serving the CHLA campus and outpatient populations will also be a requirement. Consultative outpatient clinical cardiology at various locations is anticipated. Development of teaching modules, and delivery of education to residents’ fellows and other multi-level learners is also a requirement of the Clinician Educator profile of this position.Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is ranked among the top hospitals in the nation for pediatric cardiac care on the U.S. News & World Report Best Children's Hospitals List.
