Powering a new electric world for a brighter, more secure future.Job DescriptionThis Electrical Designer is responsible for supporting the development and execution of electrical systems and control panel designs for our manufacturing operations. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for creating electrical design packages, selecting components, preparing detailed schematics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design intent is carried through to production. Accountabilities:Create designs specific to low voltage and medium voltage switchgear assemblies/systems per industry standards.Work under the supervision of electrical engineers to develop electrical schematics, panel layout, and wiring diagrams that meet customer, manufacturing, regulatory, and project requirements.Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), wire lists, and terminal block drawings.Follow and develop standard design processes and documentation to improve quality and efficiency in engineering design.Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and revise existing designs to improve manufacturability, cost, or performance.Support project management, manufacturing and field service groups on design related issues for smooth project flow.Maintain standard parts databases and electrical and layout symbols library.Create record / as built drawings based on production -testing markups.Maintain proper version control and documentation.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Knowledge/Experience: 3+ years of experience in electrical drafting or design, preferably in switchgear or related industry.Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical.Experience using AutoCAD and/or Inventor.Hands-on experience in panel building and wiring.Experience in the design of LV electrical switchgear- UL891, UL1558.Experience in the design of MV metal clad/ metal enclosed Switchgear IEEE C37.20.2/3.Familiarity with Schneider Electric Power Pact, MTZ, MV breakers is a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.Satisfactory completion of additional background screening.Education Professional Engineer (PE) License, preferred.
