Based in Hamilton, we provide comprehensive diagnostic testing services to veterinary clinics, animal health organisations, research institutions and industry partners throughout New Zealand. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic services that support animal health, welfare and disease surveillance.We are currently seeking a Chemistry Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform diagnostic testing using modern laboratory instrumentation within a busy veterinary diagnostic laboratory. You will become part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering accurate and timely results that make a real difference to animal health.Job DescriptionAs a Chemistry Technician, you will be responsible for:Performing diagnostic Chemistry and Trace Element testingPreparing and processing samples with accuracy and attention to detailOperating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, including Cobas Pure, Immulite and ICP-MS platformsPerforming quality control checks and ensuring results meet laboratory standardsRecording, reviewing and reporting analytical data accuratelyFollowing established procedures and contributing to our quality management systemMaintaining a clean, safe and organised laboratory environmentIdentifying and communicating any issues or unusual results promptlyCollaborating effectively with a supportive team to meet laboratory requirementsTaking ownership of your work and understanding the importance of reliable results for the veterinary teams and animals we supportQualificationsIdeally you will have:A tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Biological Science or a related scientific disciplinePrevious laboratory experience (commercial or diagnostic laboratory experience is advantageous)Experience working within a quality-focused laboratory environment and following standard operating procedures (SOPs)Understanding of ISO 17025 requirements and laboratory safety standardsStrong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in sample processing, testing and documentationExcellent organisational and time management skillsThe ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a teamPreferred Skills and ExperienceExperience with sample preparation and routine laboratory techniquesFamiliarity with automated laboratory instrumentation,...
