We champion an inclusive culture and strive to attract and develop a talented workforce to create and deliver a wide range of content reflecting our world.Job DescriptionRole Purpose:The Counsel, Corporate Legal Affairs will provide legal support across a broad range of software and technology licensing, professional services, confidentiality, and related commercial transactions for NBCUniversal, with a focus on corporate operations, information technology, human resources, and other enterprise functions. This role will serve as a practical and solutions-oriented legal partner to internal stakeholders, advising on contract terms, risk allocation, and related legal issues while helping to advance business objectives. The position may also support business unit attorneys on related transactions and assist with efforts to make the delivery of legal services more efficient and effective. This role will report to the division’s Senior Vice President.Responsibilities:Provide legal support for a portfolio of agreements and internal stakeholders, primarily for NBCUniversal’s Sourcing and Operations & Technology groupsDraft, review, negotiate, and support a variety of corporate transaction agreements for NBCUniversal and its various business units, including M&A and related activitiesAdvise clients regarding contractual rights and duties, matters of contract interpretation, and pre-litigation dispute resolutionCoordinate with Privacy, Information Security, and Compliance teams to ensure personal data and confidential information is collected, used, and secured in accordance with company requirements and evolving lawQualificationsBasic Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolMust be admitted to the New York State Bar or eligible to register as in-house counsel in New York4+ years of experience at law firm or comparable in-house positionDesired Characteristics:Prior experience regarding M&A, technology, data security, or intellectual property issues is a plusExcellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to juggle and prioritize a high volume of deals and deadlinesDemonstrated ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment, as a good-natured and enthusiastic team playerEagerness and proven ability to adapt and develop new expertise as business needs and technologies evolveCapable, comfortable with, and committed to providing timely and practical guidance to business...
