Accountabilities:
- Design and develop high-performance HANA-native data models using calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, and SQLScript procedures for analytical and transactional use cases.
- Translate business and analytics requirements into scalable and maintainable SAP HANA data models.
- Optimize query performance through advanced tuning techniques including partitioning, pruning, indexing strategies, and parallel execution optimization.
- Lead performance troubleshooting and system audits using tools such as HANA Studio Plan Visualizer, ST04, ST05, and DBACOCKPIT.
- Design and manage SAP HANA replication flows using SLT, SDI, and SDA technologies.
- Implement and maintain HANA security models including roles, analytic privileges, and row-level security controls.
- Support data lifecycle management using Native Storage Extension and tiering strategies where applicable.
- Collaborate with cross-functional SAP teams to integrate HANA models with Fiori, BW/4HANA, and BTP services.
- Participate in capacity planning, system sizing, and performance forecasting for HANA environments.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
- Mentor junior engineers on SAP HANA modeling best practices and performance optimization techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on SAP HANA development and engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, and SQLScript.
- Deep understanding of SAP HANA architecture including in-memory processing, columnar storage, and distributed execution.
- Proven experience in HANA performance tuning and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with HANA replication tools such as SLT, SDI, and SDA.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyze and optimize complex queries.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics or BW/4HANA modeling environments.
- Working knowledge of HANA security concepts including roles and analytic privileges.
- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and functional teams.
- Experience with SAP-certified HANA development, SAP Datasphere, or HANA Cloud is a plus.
- Competitive salary range: $130,000 – $180,000
