As Project Manager, you will play a key role in managing the delivery of critical initiatives within the Business Transformation Group’s portfolio of regional initiatives. Reporting to the Director, Business Transformation Group APAC, you will work closely with internal teams across the region, serving as the go-to person for navigating RBC’s end-to-end change governance process, keeping stakeholders informed, risks visible, and programmes moving forward. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Project Management & Coordination

  • Support the delivery and coordination of assigned change initiatives, using standard project management techniques and ensuring stakeholders navigate RBC’s end-to-end change governance framework
  • Provide project coordination support to the Director and other project leads on assigned initiatives as required.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop realistic plans and accurate estimates, continuously improving the level of detail and accuracy of estimates.
  • Maintain documentation of project risks, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints using standard project governance tools and practices.
  • Facilitate project workshops and working group meetings with stakeholders, ensuring meetings and outcomes are appropriately documented using RAID or equivalent logs.
  • Prepare regular status updates on programme progress, risks, and issues to ensure key stakeholders are informed of progress effectively.
  • Maintain project communications including status reports to the Director, stakeholders, and project teams.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Provide practical guidance to internal stakeholders navigating the change governance process, directing them to the appropriate support tools, documentation, or subject matter experts.
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across multiple internal teams and APAC locations.
  • Support the Director in establishing governance frameworks for assigned initiatives, then operate within the agreed governance model.
  • Ensure alignment to RBC’s Enterprise change management framework and provide guidance to ensure the completion of mandatory governance processes such as risk assessments.

Requirements Analysis & Testing Support

  • Support requirements discovery and analysis activities where required, working with business stakeholders to understand and document scope using RBC and industry-standard techniques.
  • Analyse and document detailed requirements using RBC and industry-standard techniques where applicable.
  • Contribute to requirements analysis discussions and facilitate stakeholder consensus on scope and requirements.
  • Conduct coverage analysis to maintain the relationship between scopes, detailed requirements, testing through to implementation, where applicable.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and post-implementation validation (PIV) activities such as planning, test case review, defect triage, and root-cause analysis for requirements-related issues.
  • Provide requirements clarifications to support design, development, and testing activities.
  • Support the development of end-user documentation and training materials where required.

Risk & Issues Management

  • Identify risks and issues across assigned workstreams and escalate to the Director or project lead with clear context to support decision-making.
  • Predict and escalate conflicts or issues as required, supporting resolution where possible.
  • Follow RBC’s standard change management processes based on RBC’s delivery methodologies

Continuous Improvement

  • Suggest improvements to project management and coordination processes based on feedback and observations.
  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of governance practices and project delivery frameworks within the Business Transformation Group.
  • Support knowledge transfer and programme handover activities as initiatives transition or the contract concludes.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

MUST-HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • 3–5 years of experience in project management or coordination support.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage across multiple internal teams and APAC locations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing status reports and updates.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and escalate issues clearly in a timely manner.
  • A self-starter mindset — able to use initiative and work independently without close supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentation preparation.

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Familiarity with RBC’s internal change governance tools and frameworks.
  • Experience with onboarding, offboarding, or general recruitment administration in a project or operational context.
  • Any project management certification or formal training (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Business Analyst qualification) or evidence of currently studying towards one.
