Accountabilities:
- Own the end-to-end performance bond strategy, including structuring, negotiating, and securing bonding solutions that meet customer and lender requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sureties, insurance brokers, and providers while representing the organization’s risk profile effectively.
- Develop subcontractor bonding requirements and determine appropriate risk coverage for different projects and business needs.
- Design and optimize corporate and project-level insurance programs as the organization takes on larger and more complex opportunities.
- Create innovative solutions when traditional bonding approaches do not fully support transaction requirements.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Growth, and operational teams to integrate risk considerations into deal planning and contract structures.
- Provide executive leadership with insights on risk exposure, market conditions, insurance trends, and strategic opportunities.
- Establish the foundation for an enterprise risk function, including future team development and operational processes.
- 7+ years of experience in performance bonds, surety, insurance, or enterprise risk management.
- Deep knowledge of performance bond underwriting, pricing, negotiation, and structuring processes.
- Proven experience managing broker and surety relationships and bringing organizational risk profiles to market.
- Strong understanding of corporate insurance programs and project-specific insurance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Ability to make informed decisions with incomplete information while operating in a rapidly changing environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience building or scaling risk management functions is highly valued.
- Additional experience with construction, infrastructure, industrial, energy, or project finance environments is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or surety-related credentials are beneficial.
