YOU

As an Adhesive Formulator you will perform mixing processes to support production while ensuring all Safety, Quality, mixing standards, and processes are adhered to. This will include the handling and mixing of chemicals, and operation of mixing machines. This position works 1st shift Mon -Thurs 6am-4:30pm.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Operate mixing equipment in-line with Ignition, process instructions, and procedures. Monitor equipment, keeping processes running safely and at desired run rates. Make evaluations in the appropriate portion of mixing chemicals and compounds using work instructions and on the job training knowledge. Report any deviations in materials and expected results. Carry out all operations in compliance with the expected Quality standards, operating procedures, and respecting all company EHS policies. (60%)

Preparation of raw materials and packaging, identifying, and preparing the right quantities. Transporting and transferring of material in and out of the warehouse to production. Transporting to the appropriate area and reporting any issues with materials. (25%)

Responsible for housekeeping in area of responsibility. Carry out other duties requested from the Production leadership team. (15%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience mixing chemicals. 
  • Basic educational degree or High school diploma or general education diploma
  • Knowledge of common software programs (MS office)
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, production process, safety regulations and quality procedures and instructions.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP desired.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Stand up and sit-down Forklift experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear.  This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, wet, or humid conditions, fumes and/or noxious odors, toxic/caustic chemicals, dust, loud noise levels and moving mechanical parts. 

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 5% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt/non-exempt position is in West Chicago, IL.

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$22.98 - $34.47 / hour
