DESCRIPTION:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as an Indirect Procurement Operations Analyst and make a meaningful impact on global science and healthcare. You'll contribute to ensuring the seamless supply of materials that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Working in a procurement environment, you'll manage supplier relationships, drive cost optimization, and ensure timely delivery of critical products and services. You'll work with cross-functional teams Finance, Category Management, P2P and PMO to support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute sourcing activities across Indirect categories.
  • Gather and analyze data using procurement spend analytics tools 
  • Work with Market Intelligence team to research and identify potential suppliers for sourcing requests
  • Research potential vendors, develop and execute RFP for spend less than $500K per event.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation is translated to RFP and contracts as appropriate
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking to inform sourcing strategy 
  • Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing delivering with suppliers and record annual P&L savings

Functional & technical skills 

  • Experience with sourcing process, vendor management, contract negotiations and procure to pay operations 
  • Expertise in sourcing tools (e-sourcing, spend analytics, ERP, supplier management software)
  • Negotiation skills – will need to solicit bids and negotiate purchases directly with suppliers 
  • Breadth of experience across Indirect Sourcing categories (preferred)

Leadership / behavioral 

  • Desire to grow and develop as a sourcing specialist and develop category expertise across Indirect portfolios (e.g., Services, IT and Facilities) 
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment – self-starter who looks for ways to improve existing processes
  • Strong customer service orientation, keen to deliver on internal customer needs
  • Independent worker with ability to track and manage own deadlines  
  • Ability to gather, interpret and analyze data to inform sourcing decisions

Experience & Qualification

  • Proven working experience as procurement analyst, manager or agent
  • 3+ years of purchasing experience / negotiations
  • Degree in supply chain management, operations or business administration 
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and project management tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively across global, cross-functional teams
  • Proven English language competency (verbal and written)
