This role is a high-impact opportunity within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) space, focused on designing and delivering secure, scalable authentication and access solutions in support of complex enterprise and government environments. The Identity Engineer will play a key role in implementing and optimizing PingFederate-based identity services that enable secure access across critical systems and applications. Working within a collaborative and security-focused engineering team, this position involves end-to-end ownership of identity solutions—from design and integration through deployment and production support. The role requires deep technical expertise in federation protocols, strong software engineering skills, and the ability to translate complex IAM requirements into reliable, production-ready solutions. This is a remote or hybrid position requiring U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance.

Accountabilities

    • Design, develop, test, and deploy PingFederate-based identity and access management solutions supporting enterprise authentication and authorization needs.
    • Build and maintain workflows, interfaces, and integrations aligned with IAM best practices and customer requirements.
    • Take ownership of identity solutions across the full lifecycle, from architecture and design through production deployment and support.
    • Develop maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code and configurations using industry-standard engineering practices.
    • Integrate PingFederate with enterprise systems using protocols such as SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions, and ensure successful implementation and adoption.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, process optimization, and roadmap development for identity services.
    • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment activities, and incident resolution to ensure system reliability and security.
    • Requirements:

      • U.S. Citizenship with active Secret clearance (mandatory).
      • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
      • 3+ years of hands-on experience deploying and managing PingFederate in enterprise environments.
      • Strong expertise in federation and authentication protocols including SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
      • Experience with PingAccess, LDAP integration, and enterprise identity system architecture.
      • Solid programming and integration skills, including Java, REST/SOAP APIs, and scripting languages.
      • Strong understanding of IAM domains such as identity lifecycle management, access governance, and access certification.
      • Ability to work across multi-tier architectures, databases, and complex enterprise environments.
      • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
      • Preferred: Ping Identity certifications (PingFederate, PingAccess, PingDirectory, PingOne), Agile experience, and familiarity with tools like SailPoint or ForgeRock.
