This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States, preferably Chicago.

What’s in it for you

Lead a growing and specialized practice. You will play a key role in developing a growing daily valuation services practice at the intersection of commercial real estate valuation, accounting, NAV reporting, and financial analytics. As demand for more frequent valuation and reporting continues to grow, you will help shape the capabilities and processes that support this evolving area of the business.
Own and influence how the work gets done. You will have the autonomy to evaluate existing processes, establish best practices, improve workflows, and introduce more scalable ways of working. This is an opportunity to take an evolving service offering and help build the structure, tools, and approaches needed for its continued growth.

Work with sophisticated clients and high-profile portfolios. You will work with institutional real estate clients and collaborate with appraisers, internal valuation teams, and senior stakeholders. You will gain exposure to complex real estate portfolios and help deliver high-quality, highly visible work to leading organizations in the industry.

Grow as a technical leader. You will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in daily valuation, NAV accounting, commercial real estate, and financial analytics while sharing your knowledge and helping build the capabilities and knowledge base around this specialized practice. As the service line grows, you will have the opportunity to expand your leadership responsibilities and influence within the wider Valuation Advisory practice.

As our new Manager, Daily Valuation & NAV Accounting, you will:

  • Lead daily valuation and NAV calculations. You will oversee the review of financial information, property values, debt positions, equity calculations, and working capital adjustments used to support daily NAV reporting. • Own client engagements and deliverables. You will take ownership of multiple daily valuation engagements, managing timelines, priorities, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations. You will ensure engagements are delivered accurately, on time, and in accordance with client requirements while proactively identifying risks and resolving issues.
  • Lead valuation updates and material event analysis. You will coordinate with appraisers, clients, internal valuation teams, and other stakeholders to collect and incorporate updated property valuations throughout the quarter. You will oversee the analysis of material events, such as new leases, bankruptcies, and significant market or property developments, and determine how relevant changes should be reflected in valuation and NAV calculations.
  • Analyze results and investigate variances. You will review projected results against actual share-price and valuation outcomes, investigate material variances, and work with internal teams and clients to understand the underlying drivers and determine appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Provide technical review, quality oversight, and direct team leadership. You will review the work of team members before deliverables are shared with clients and third parties, while directly managing one analyst initially with potential for team growth. You will assess assumptions, calculations, projections, and variance analysis to ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and technical excellence.
  • Lead client and stakeholder relationships. You will interpret client requests, understand the underlying business need, and determine the appropriate response. You will communicate complex financial and valuation information clearly and coordinate requests across clients, appraisers, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
