Overview
UE Manufacturing is Now Hiring Contract operations Specialist located at 10000 NW 2nd, Oklahoma City, OK 73127. Coordinate and manage project construction with production, vendors, and customers to ensure deliverables meet applicable standards and specifications, project budget and timeline.
Responsibilities
- Create change orders for approvals and assist in tracking and managing.
- Coordinate with production team day-to-day to communicate on construction design, engineering, or changes.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure the production and completion of tasks align to project milestones.
- Coordinate with customer on design, critical tasks, or proposed changes against the written or drawn specs of the specified new construction vessel.
- Coordinate deadweight and incline procedures for new construction vessels.
- Maintain Engineering/Project/Design documents, latest is in system and distributed.
- Submit documents to ABS and retrieve reviewed drawings.
- Responsible for maintaining vendor & equipment documents.
- Manage Tonnage Admeasurement applications.
- Oversee testing reports.
- Create and issue fabrication assembly drawings through ShipConstructor.
- Produce and maintain 2-D Design Drawings through AutoCAD
- Update drawings to new revisions, to showcase changes during design or as any change order effects.
- Create/Manage Engineering’s Bill of Materials for all structural and piping systems.
- Ensure preliminary equipment is correct and assign date to order.
- Manage steel cuts for new construction vessels and work with vendors to meet project milestones.
- Ensure the delivery and location of all steel parts, coordinate with vendor for any missing parts or recuts.
- Responsible for equipment and locations for new construction vessels.
- Purchase new construction equipment and miscellaneous material as needed by schedule.
- Manage project material budgets and order material for change orders.
- Actively seek competitive pricing and production for all equipment and material
- Serve as a backup for all purchase orders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Must be self-motivated and willing to learn.
- Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Ship Constructor, Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Ship Construction processes.
- Basic Knowledge of ABS rules & processes.
- Basic Knowledge of Coast Guard Sub M rules.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in shipyard.
- Valid drivers license

- Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception).
- Sense of smell, touch and hearing.
- Ability to speak clearly to internal and external stake holders.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the position, location, and/or customer.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in and out of office.
- Ability to work in industrial work areas, shipyards, and Kirby or customer/vendor facilities as required.
