We're looking for a detail-oriented People Operations Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating exceptional employee experiences. You'll sit at the heartbeat of our mission-driven healthcare startup, gaining invaluable HR experience whilst enabling our team do their best work in conquering obesity and type 2 diabetes.You'll help to ensure an exceptional employee journey from the moment someone joins our mission to the day they move on to pursue new opportunities. Combining operational excellence with a passion for people, you'll work with us to deliver a world-class experience to our team. Our HR system, HiBob, holds all our people data, and you'll also be responsible for keeping all records accurate. At Second Nature, we're trying to solve an incredibly complex problem – and our team needs to be at their best to deliver on this vision. We believe that great employee experiences don't happen by accident – they're carefully crafted by people who care deeply about creating an environment where everyone can thrive.What you'll doRun onboarding from offer to day one and beyond: drafting employment contracts, right-to-work and DBS checks, equipment, welcome meetings, and our new joiner buddy programmeManage offboarding so people leave on a positive, well-organised note: exit checklists, equipment returns, and system updatesKeep HiBob accurate and up to date: process starters, leavers, and changes promptly, run people workflows, and spot and fix data issues before they become problemsSpot ways to streamline our processes, using AI where it helpsSupport the running of our team socials and away daysProcess employee perks and benefitsBeing the go-to person for any People questions our team might haveHelp with the day-to-day admin that keeps the People team running smoothlyPlease note, this opportunity is initially being offered as an 18-month fixed-term contract with the ability to start as soon as possible.RequirementsRole-specific requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh emotional intelligence, putting our people at the centre of all processes The ability to handle confidential data and sensitive information with discretion and empathyGrowth mindset and ability to take on feedbackMethodical and organised, with strong attention to detailComfortable juggling multiple tasks and working autonomously to tight deadlinesConfident with systems, and quick to learn new ones; experience with an HRIS or ATS is a bonus, not a mustInterest in using AI and automations to speed up your work is also a huge plus!Who you are You're a team player with a can-do attitude; when something needs doing, you'd rather muck in than wait to be askedYou have a keen eye for detail; a wrong start date or a typo in a contract genuinely bothers youYou love making processes better; if you've done something twice, you're already thinking about how to make it slicker the third timeYou're proactive and efficient; you spot what's coming and get ahead of it rather than waiting for it to land in your inboxYou're empathetic and build relationships easily; you notice how people are doing, not just what they need from youYou handle sensitive information and conversations maturely; people can tell you things knowing they'll go no furtherThe CompanyThe ChallengeObesity has become a global epidemic; in the UK, we spend £9 billion a year alone on diseases like type 2 diabetes (that’s 10% of the NHS budget).
