The Project Engineer III is in charge of planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to make sure they can complete a project within their budget and according to a schedule. Duties include upholding project standards by researching compliance regulations, developing project implementation plans and adjusting specifications for elements of a project.  You will manage the planning and processes of a project and delegate responsibilities to appropriate team members and sub-teams to ensure the project is completed efficiently and successfully. Day-to-day duties and responsibilities may vary depending on project team construct.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS:  Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct regular meetings with team leads, stakeholders, and clients to ensure program and project requirements are met on schedule.
  • Delegate tasks to team members according to their individual skill sets, experience, and abilities to ensure efficient completion of the project.
  • Maintain budgets as necessary and adjust according to needs as they arise.
  • Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals to meet contract requirements.
  • Document and report project progress to team leads, stakeholders, and clients.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required.

  • Have excellent mechanical ability and likes to work with their hands.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • BS or MS in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years post-graduation employment experience.
  • Basic understanding of engineering program processes.

DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Proficient in MATLAB and/or other relevant surfacing-capable CAD software.
  • Basic understanding of CAD mechanical design software (e.g. - Creo, NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with vehicle-based protype manufacturing environments (Motorsports, Defense, or Automotive).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Working primarily in an office environment.
  • Occasionally work with manufacturing (support).
  • Occasionally work outside in an austere testing environment.

Pay Range:

$91,500.00 - $148,100.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
