This Direct-Hire position is in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is located in the Office of Analytical and Regulatory Laboratories (OARL), Tobacco Products Laboratory (TPL) which serves the OARL and its field organization based on Office of the Chief Scientist's (OCS) scientific program needs and capabilities. The Laboratory Director manages all phases of the Tobacco Products Laboratory programs and analyses aimed at effective accomplishment of the Agency consumer protection mission.
Provides occupational specific technical and administrative direction 25 percent or more of the time to three or more subordinate employees performing the work and functions of the organization. Obtains resources and identifies strategic objectives for the organization. Regularly makes determinations or major recommendations in a number of tobacco related laboratory areas. Participates fully in formal and informal policy and planning activities to formulate the overall OARL Tobacco Laboratory program operating goals, objectives and milestones for the laboratory in support of OARL, OCS and the FDA.
