Compensation Range:

$62,400.00 - $84,240.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

The Behavior Analyst is responsible for implementing Applied Behavior Analytic services across outpatient and inpatient settings within the medical center. This role involves the delivery of inpatient ABA services, both inpatient consultation and direct services. This role involves services delivery for patients across the age span. It is expected that the behavior analyst will train URMC and community-based staff, and caregivers on all interventions. The Behavior Analyst conduct is at all times in accordance with the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB) Code of Ethical Conduct and the New York State Education Requirements for Licensed Behavior Analysts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs complex psychosocial assessments, functional behavioral assessments, functional analysis, and skill assessments in collaboration with staff, individuals and their families to achieve positive outcomes and improved quality of life.  Develops function-based behavioral interventions, training models and teaching programs. This includes but is not limited to instructional strategies and behavior reduction strategies, safety plans, and transitions plans.   Coordinates training with individuals, family and staff (may include peer supervision and consultation) in areas including but not limited to milieu, home foster home, educational, medical, clinic and community settings.  Assesses successful completion of behavior and/or training plans and terminates participation accordingly.  Coordinates with Primary Care Physicians to ensure continuity of care.
  • Develops, maintains and updates behavior and/or training plans in compliance with Program, Department and Hospital regulations.  Meets minimum target for clinical productivity set by service director. 
  • Acts as primary contact for the behavior and/or teaching plan.  Collaborates with referral sources and other professionals both internal and external throughout behavior plan. 
  • Establishes and regularly maintains cooperative working relationships with community and health care agencies, as well as professional and administrative staff of the Medical Center and University. May serve on agency and community committees. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis, psychology, education or related field required
  • At least 3 years’ experience working with individuals with autism and related disorders or developmental disabilities with comorbid mental health needs across community, school, or other clinical settings required.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work effectively with key stakeholders across a number of different hospital and community settings preferred.
  • Flexible in approach and appreciates the demands of a fast-paced, constantly evolving practice preferred.
  • Can work with individuals with varying levels of need and complexity preferred.
  • Comfortable working with pilot and novel programs to create new opportunities for integrated service models preferred.


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • NYS Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) licensure or limited permit required.
