Accountabilities:
- Act as a consultant in strategic business projects focused on data engineering using Databricks platforms.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using ETL/ELT processes.
- Implement best practices for processing large volumes of data, ensuring performance, availability, and reliability.
- Optimize queries and data models to improve analytical performance and efficiency.
- Design and implement modern Data Lakehouse architectures using the Medallion approach (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
- Support the creation and evolution of modern Data Warehouse models, including Star Schema and Snowflake architectures.
- Apply Big Data best practices within Databricks and Delta Lake environments.
- Work with open data formats such as Delta Lake, Iceberg, Parquet, and Avro.
- Ensure data governance practices, including access control, security, and version management.
- Refactor and optimize existing pipelines to improve scalability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Solid experience with Databricks and Delta Lakehouse architecture.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience optimizing queries for distributed data processing.
- Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and scalable data architectures.
- Knowledge of incremental data processing pipelines, including UPSERT, MERGE, and CDC concepts.
- Experience with analytical data modeling, including Star Schema and Snowflake models.
- Experience managing Databricks workloads, including pipeline refactoring and performance tuning.
- Understanding of modern Data Warehouse technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Familiarity with data governance practices and access management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Experience with Unity Catalog for governance and access control in Databricks.
- Experience with AWS data architectures and services such as S3, IAM, Glue, and EMR.
- Experience provisioning and configuring Databricks clusters from scratch.
- Knowledge of infrastructure, networking, permissions, and integration with data catalogs.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data solutions.
