Job Description:

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.

We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.

About the Role:

Remitly is on a mission to transform the lives of immigrants and their families by providing the most trusted financial products on the planet. As Remitly scales its global disbursement network. We're hiring a Senior Program Manager – Technical to lead the end-to-end programs across our global money movement network. This will be a hybrid role based in Seattle.

You will define the strategy, surface the product opportunities, and design creative resolution mechanisms that shape how losses are managed as we grow. You will report directly to Senior Manager-Program management.

You Will:

  • Oversee high risk programs end to end — taking proactive ownership of strategic execution, and outcomes rather than waiting for direction.

  • Define the multi-year improvement strategy — loss thresholds, risk tiers, and escalation frameworks — and align leadership on the trade-offs and priorities.

  • Own the company level goal for delivering dollar savings and reducing the transaction cost, tracking performance periodically and surfacing improvement opportunities.

  • Design the operating model for the program including investigation workflows, incident management, recovery mechanisms, and accountability structures. Create the frameworks, SOPs, and escalation flow for addressing quality issues and financial loss incidents.

  • Be data-driven in opportunity sizing and prioritization — using data to define loss use cases, risk-rate them, and partner with Analytics to improve the loss model.

  • Use AI to build scalable preventive solutions — driving automation across investigation and recovery workflows and using AI/LLM tooling to reduce manual efforts and overcome manual limitations.

  • Coordinate cross functional projects. Define prioritization, drive results and track progress.

  • Lead MBRs and executive reviews — communicating outcomes to leadership and delivering high-visibility reporting on important metrics, milestones, and risk factors to diverse stakeholders.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of program or technical program management experience in FinTech, payments, money movement, or risk/loss operations.

  • Experience leading end-to-end programs — defining strategy, building the operating model, and delivering measurable outcomes (loss reduction, cost savings, or comparable financial goals).

  • Data-driven : comfortable defining opportunity sizing, building prioritization frameworks, and partnering with analytics teams on models. At least beginner level SQL proficiency.

  • Experience designing processes, SOPs and workflows.

  • A bias toward scalable, automated solutions, with hands-on curiosity about applying AI/LLM tooling to reduce manual effort and improve detection.

  • Experience influencing and aligning cross-functional partners such as Product, Engineering, Operations, and Finance — without direct authority.

  • High proactive ownership, data driven approach and the strategic judgment to shape how a program scales across multiple products.
