The Accounting Lead performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements. You will conduct and assist in the documentation of accounting projects. You will work on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.The Accounting Lead prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget.
- Advise executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.
- Review and prepare financial data, transactions and reports, including ad-hoc data requests for executive leadership
- Partner with other areas across the organization to ensure accurate reporting of our financials
- Review monthly close and approved journal entries
- Develop methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing financial data and preparing complex analyses
- Analyze payer agnostic medical data for trends and financial impact
- Present markets with monthly financial performance and trend insights

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
- 5+ years with general accounting/monthly close process
- 2 or more years of leadership experience
- Experience presenting to upper management
- Excel proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business administration
- Prior experience within the healthcare industry
- Certified Public Accountant license
- Familiarity with Healthcare income statements and MLR (medical loss ratios)
- SQL and Essbase
- Healthcare claims reserving and development
Additional Information
This is a hybrid position, with an expectation of working approximately two days per week from the downtown Louisville, KY office. Fully remote arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
