GFCC EMEA AML Investigations Governance & Reporting — Senior Associate

You will partner closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Legal, Audit, and Technology to support audit and regulatory exam readiness, governance routines, records retention expectations, and evolving reporting needs. Success depends on strong time management skills, effective communication with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to produce executive-ready and regulator-ready materials often to tight deadlines.

As a Senior Associate / Officer in EMEA AML Investigations Governance & Reporting team, you will support the program management and control environment underpinning the EMEA AML Investigations function. You will contribute to the design, execution, and evaluation of operational controls and governance processes, using QA insights, issues, and control testing outcomes to drive continuous improvement and reduce operational risk.

A core focus of the role is producing accurate and consistent MI, including KPIs and KRIs that evidence program health and inform leadership actions. The role requires a data literate professional who can source and extract data via multiple tools and queries, apply practical transformation and validation approaches, and convert results into clear reporting products and dashboards. Experience with Microsoft 365 tools, particularly SharePoint Online for controlled content management, and Tableau Desktop for dashboard design and maintenance, is valued to strengthen the team’s immediate capability

Job Responsibilities

• Support the design, execution, documentation, and continuous enhancement of operational controls and checks aligned to the Compliance and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) framework, including evidence standards and control sustainability.
• Use issues management outcomes, and control testing results to identify drivers of risk, recommend remediation actions, and help prevent recurrence through improved process and control design.
• Produce and maintain high-quality MI, including actionable KPIs/KRIs, ensuring clear definitions, consistent methodology, controlled data sourcing, and traceable evidence to support leadership decisions.
• Source, extract, and validate data from agreed systems and repositories using practical tooling and query approaches; transform data into meaningful reporting outputs that are accurate, timely, and fit for purpose.
• Support dashboard and reporting product delivery, including requirements gathering, stakeholder alignment, refresh routines, data checks, and change control to maintain confidence in reporting.
• Contribute to governance routines, including meeting materials, governance pack development, action tracking, documentation management, and procedural updates relevant to AML Investigations controls and MI.
• Support regulatory exam, questionnaire, and audit readiness by coordinating inputs, shaping clear and consistent responses, ensuring evidentiary standards are met, and delivering to timelines with appropriate stakeholder review.
• Apply AML Investigations and broader financial crime compliance knowledge to support escalations, develop clear updates, and ensure stakeholders have accurate visibility of themes, trends, and control performance.
• Support records retention, data sourcing controls, and documentation practices aligned to internal standards and relevant data protection requirements.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills 

• Experience in operational controls and business management activities within financial crime, investigations operations, compliance, or operational risk.
• Working knowledge of AML Investigations operating models and the broader financial crime compliance framework, with the ability to apply this knowledge to MI, controls, and governance outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to translate data into decision-useful MI, including defining metrics, validating inputs, identifying data quality issues, and explaining results clearly to stakeholders.
• Practical capability to source/extract data using one or more approaches (for example: system reporting layers, controlled data extracts, structured queries, or governed spreadsheets), with an emphasis on accuracy, traceability, and appropriate controls.
• Strong organisational and project execution skills, including managing competing priorities, meeting delivery timelines, and coordinating inputs across multiple stakeholders.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce executive-ready and regulator-ready materials with clear narratives and appropriately supported statements.

   

            Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills 

• Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online: Hands-on experience using Microsoft 365 to support controlled collaboration and MI workflows; SharePoint Online site/content maintenance and permission-aware document management.
• Tableau Desktop: Intermediate experience designing, maintaining, and publishing dashboards; understanding refresh/extract considerations and applying stakeholder-centred visual design to deliver actionable MI.
• Alteryx Designer (desirable, not essential): Experience building repeatable data-prep workflows (cleansing, joins, aggregations) with appropriate documentation to support consistent MI production.
• Audit / exam support: Experience supporting regulatory exams and internal/external audits, including evidence collation, issue tracking, and response coordination.
• Analytical mindset: Demonstrated ability to gather information, identify themes/root causes, and translate findings into clear MI and risk insights.
• Regulatory change exposure: Experience supporting regulatory change processes, including impact assessment, implementation planning, and communications.
• Oversight & records discipline: Experience supporting outsourced services governance (where in scope), plus knowledge of records retention and data protection expectations for MI inputs and evidentiary artefacts.
