Senior Health, Safety & Environment Engineer (m/w/d)
We are looking for a talented Senior Health, Safety & Environment Engineer (m/w/d) to join our Traction Department in Nuremberg, Germany.
This position is available on a full-time or part-time basis (minimum 25 hours per week).
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Champion a strong and proactive Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture at the Accelera eMobility site in Nuremberg by promoting awareness, accountability, and best practices across the organization.
- Apply advanced technical HSE expertise to design, implement, and continuously improve effective health, safety, and environmental engineering controls.
- Act as a trusted technical partner to cross‑functional teams, ensuring compliance with Cummins internal requirements, applicable HSE regulations, and recognized industry standards.
- Lead hazard identification, environmental aspect identification, and risk assessment programs to proactively reduce risk and drive continuous improvement.
- Drive the design and maintenance of hazard prevention and risk control systems, including corrective and preventive actions.
- Support day‑to‑day HSE operations by resolving complex technical challenges and strengthening compliance through a structured, data‑driven approach.
- Develop and deliver training, skills development initiatives, and internal communications to enable employees to actively contribute to hazard prevention and control.
- Analyse HSE performance data, legal compliance findings, and audit results to define risk‑based improvement plans and support HSE management system reviews and audit readiness.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- A formal HSE qualification or the willingness to obtain relevant certifications.

- A structured, data‑driven approach to problem‑solving and risk management.
Education/ Experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Health, Safety and/or Environment; HSE certifications are an advantage.
- Fluent English and German language skills required.
- Proven HSE experience, ideally in a global or international environment.
- Experience within eMobility or high‑power electrical environments; strong knowledge of high‑voltage safety standards (e.g. NFPA 70E, VDE 1000‑10) is highly desirable.
The compensation for this role is aligned with a local bargained or unionized agreement.
