Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and server-side logic using Python and Django technologies.
- Enhance and support core web platforms, APIs, and backend services while ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Build, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs to support seamless communication between frontend and backend systems.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and performance optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and domain experts to deliver high-quality end-to-end features.
- Contribute to deployment, monitoring, operational support, and shared on-call responsibilities when required.
- Ensure code quality through unit, integration, and functional testing while following software engineering best practices.
- Take ownership of assigned features from design through implementation, testing, and delivery.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience developing backend applications with Python, Django, and Django REST Framework in production environments.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, backend architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Solid knowledge of relational databases, with experience using MariaDB considered a strong advantage.
- Experience implementing unit, integration, and functional testing to ensure software quality.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Collaborative, adaptable mindset with a willingness to work across multiple technologies and responsibilities.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, Ansible, Bootstrap, React, or similar technologies is considered a plus.
- Interest in bioinformatics, genomics, or healthcare technology is highly valued.
