Accountabilities:

    • Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and strong balance sheet integrity.
    • Design, implement, and enhance government accounting processes, including cost reimbursement reporting, indirect rate calculations, project costing, and allowable versus unallowable cost tracking.
    • Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and operational procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations and audit requirements.
    • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to prepare for financial and government audits while supporting future compliance initiatives such as Single Audits and related reporting frameworks.
    • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and scalable financial infrastructure to support organizational growth and increasing operational complexity.
    • Collaborate with Finance leadership, Legal, Operations, and external advisors to address government accounting requirements and strengthen compliance practices.
    • Mentor team members, review accounting work, and contribute to building a high-performing and efficient accounting function.
    • Requirements

      • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 4 years focused on government accounting, government contracting, or cost-reimbursable environments.
      • Strong knowledge of government accounting regulations, including cost allocation methodologies, indirect rates, allowable costs, and audit-ready financial reporting.
      • Experience supporting government audits, DCAA compliance, FAR/CAS concepts, Single Audits, Yellow Book standards, or similar regulatory frameworks.
      • Proven ability to establish and improve accounting controls, financial policies, and compliance procedures in evolving organizations.
      • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and ownership of month-end close and core accounting operations.
      • Leadership experience with the ability to coach team members, review work, and drive high-quality financial outcomes.
      • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
      • CPA certification and experience with ERP platforms such as NetSuite or project-based accounting systems are highly desirable.
