Position: Dietary Aide Part-Time

Shift and Schedule:  

  • Wednesday: Day shift 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.; evening shift 4:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: Day shift 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
  • Friday: Day shift 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday: Day shift 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or evening shift 4:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m.

 

Pay: $19.00 DOE

Job Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.   

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required.

  • Serve meals in the health center.

  • Sets up tables in the health center dining room and breaks down same after meal.

  • Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center.

  • Transports all required nonfood items to and from the health center.

  • Maintains station equipment and work area in safe and sanitary condition.

 

Other Duties:

 

  • Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness. 

  • Maintains safe and sanitary conditions. 

  • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned. 

  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Must be 16 years or older.

  • Previous experience in nursing home and/or food service preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and explain menu items clearly.

  • Team-oriented, with a focus on resident satisfaction.

 

Physical Requirements 

 

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; lifting weight requirement will not be more than 50 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.
