Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Housekeeper, you will perform deep, specialized terminal cleaning of rooms after patient discharge to prepare them safely for the next admission.
Every day, you clean and disinfect patient rooms, exam rooms, isolation rooms, and treatment areas using hospital-grade chemicals.
To be successful, the ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the vital link between cleanliness and patient health, and respects patient privacy.
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, and other areas.
- Follow established cleaning and disinfection protocols and procedures
- Collect and dispose of waste, bio-hazardous waste and linens
- Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms and common areas
- Respond to requests for cleaning services from health-care staff
- You may operate heavy-duty equipment and use special cleaning equipment.
Job Requirements
Required
- Housekeeping experience required, utilizing basic housekeeping practices and procedures, proper handling/disposal of infectious waste, and proper safety skills in handling housekeeping chemicals
- Acute healthcare work experience involving the use of heavy equipment such as buffer extractors, wide area vacuums, and wet vacuums
