Accountabilities:

    • Develop, implement, and optimize onboard autonomy software for UAS platforms, including integration with mission systems on embedded hardware such as NVIDIA Jetson.
    • Design and deploy autonomous path planning, search, and decision-making algorithms for dynamic and uncertain operational environments.
    • Build and enhance adaptive autonomy systems capable of responding to real-time environmental and mission changes.
    • Process and integrate multi-sensor data streams to enable robust autonomous navigation and situational awareness.
    • Apply machine learning and optimization techniques to improve autonomy performance, reliability, and efficiency.
    • Own full lifecycle development of autonomy features, including design, implementation, testing, debugging, and deployment in safety-critical systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in embedded and real-time environments while ensuring compliance with performance and safety requirements.
    • Maintain technical documentation, version control, and validation records for mission-critical and audit-ready software systems.
    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
      • 5+ years of experience in aerospace autonomy, robotics, or mission-critical embedded software development.
      • Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for embedded systems and algorithm development.
      • Experience working in Linux environments and containerized workflows (e.g., Docker).
      • Strong understanding of path planning, optimization algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns in constrained environments.
      • Hands-on experience with embedded computing platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson or similar systems.
      • Familiarity with real-world UAS or aerospace applications, ideally including operational or defense-related environments.
      • Ability to independently own complex technical problems and deliver reliable solutions in high-stakes systems.
      • Strong debugging, analytical, and systems-thinking skills.
