What You Will Do:

  • You will be responsible for reviewing and approving a range of critical processes across all Aftermarket sources utilized in the manufacture and repair of engine hardware including but not limited to:  welding, brazing, shot peening, heat treatment, surface finishing, bearing manufacturing/refurbishment, joining, coating, chemical processes, stripping, adhesive bonding, composites and surface treatments.
  • Review and qualification of supplier repair processes for both commercial and military hardware to ensure that they meet the requirements of DER-approved technical data.
  • Will address various material and processing needs and assessments, as well as evaluate gas turbine engine hardware and materials.
  • Review of detailed process-specific operation sheets, process monitoring, non-destructive evaluation, destructive metallurgical testing and evaluation of engine hardware, pilot testing of chemical processes, and material property analysis.
  • Document and analyze data/results to substantiate qualification of processes, prepare reports, and generate standard work.
  • You will travel to sources across the globe as needed to process witness and verify process readiness.
  • You will identify the steps required to execute repairs and estimate associated costs.
  • Additional Pratt & Whitney locations may be considered (North Berwick, ME, Dallas, TX, other).
     

What You Will Learn:

  • You will learn how repairs are identified, how technical data is generated and released, and how repairs are approved across all commercial and military engine programs.
  • You will gain a deep understanding of Aftermarket shop operations and associated regulations.
  • You will be in a technical role and will learn how all the critical Aftermarket processes are executed.
  • You will gain proficiency in multiple critical manufacturing processes and repairs.
  • You will learn the differences between Aftermarket and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)  operations and requirements.
  • You will work with Aftermarket sources across the globe.


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a similar technical field or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in at least one or more of the following: design, manufacturing and/or materials engineering associated with welding, brazing, shot peening, heat treatment, surface finishing, bearing manufacturing/refurbishment, joining, coating, chemical processes, stripping, adhesive bonding, composites and surface treatments and related processing.
     

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • A Master’s of Science in Engineering is a plus, as is green belt and/or black belt certification and training.
  • Prior engine hardware design, manufacturing or aftermarket experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney design and quality systems.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
