Cloud Account Executive — Tableau | Public SectorJob Category: Sales
The Experience
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans and agents drive customer success together.
We're looking for a Tableau Account Executive who understands that data is the new oil — and knows how to help public institutions turn it into high-impact decisions.
In this role, you'll bring Salesforce's Tableau Agentic Analytics platform to Public Sector organizations — federal, state, and local government, education, and public health — transforming how institutions see, understand, and act on their data to better serve citizens. If the idea of selling intelligence in service of the public good excites you — this role is for you.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Lead data transformation conversations with public sector organizations, positioning Tableau as the unified Agentic Analytics platform for government and social sector.
- Thrive in a consultative, complex sales model — from initial discovery through closing high-impact deals with long cycles, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities where institutions have fragmented data across agencies, silos, or untapped sources, and build business cases grounded in citizen impact and budget efficiency.
- Navigate public procurement with confidence: RFPs, consolidated purchasing, framework agreements, and government contracts.
- Partner closely with Solution Engineers and Core Account Executives to design end-to-end Agentic Analytics solutions tailored to the sector's regulatory and security requirements.
- Position Agentforce as the natural next step: clean data → insights → autonomous action with AI Agents in service of public management.
- Maintain a robust pipeline with accurate forecasting that accounts for public sector budget and fiscal cycles.
- Engage across multiple stakeholder profiles: CIO, Digital Transformation Director, CFO, agency secretaries, and regulatory bodies.
- 8+ years of enterprise software sales experience, with exposure to data, analytics, BI, or CRM solutions — ideally with public sector or government experience.
- Proven track record of exceeding quota in new business (hunter), including deals involving public procurement or RFP processes.
- Experience selling to profiles such as CIO, IT Director, Innovation Director, Deputy Secretaries, or decision-makers within government agencies.
- Command of consultative sales methodologies (MEDDPICC, Challenger) adapted to long cycles and multiple approvers.
- Ability to connect a data use case to concrete public sector outcomes: budget efficiency, transparency, fraud reduction, improved citizen services.
- Familiarity with the data ecosystem: data warehouses, ETL, CRM data, government operational pipelines.
- Native or fluent Spanish speaker; business English proficiency desirable.
- You have experience selling Tableau, CRM Analytics, Data Cloud, or competing platforms such as Power BI, Snowflake, Databricks, SAP Analytics Cloud, or SAS in government or social sector contexts.
- You've led deals where the data component was the entry point to a broader institutional digital transformation.
- You're familiar with public sector regulatory and compliance requirements: open data mandates, government information security standards, interoperability frameworks, or local equivalents.
- You have an established network within federal, state, or municipal government agencies, or in sectors such as public health, education, or public safety.
- You're familiar with Agentforce and can articulate how AI Agents power smarter public management through clean, unified data in Data Cloud.
- Industry focus → federal/state/local government, education, public health
- Sales process → RFPs, public procurement, budget/fiscal cycles
- Buyer profiles → CIO, IT Director, Deputy Secretaries, regulatory bodies
- Value prop → citizen impact, budget efficiency, transparency, fraud reduction
- "Even Better If" → government network + regulatory/compliance knowledge
