Job Summary

The Regional Power System Application Manager serves as the primary technical interface between regional customers, sales teams, global power system architecture, and product line engineering organization. The role is responsible for understanding customer requirements, developing system-level electrical solutions, and supporting business opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. The role will focus on 800V DC power system application, translating regional high-giant, hyperscale and colo customer’s needs into product and system requirements while working closely with the global architecture team to ensure future product development aligns with market demands. The related product ranges from white space to grey space and black space, which includes power distribution, UPS, DC power, power shelf, as well as MV/LV generator, BESS and green energy solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical focal point for regional Power System opportunities.
  • Engage with customers to understand application requirements, operational scenarios, and technical challenges.
  • Gather, analyze, and document customer requirements, translating them into clear system and product specifications, support technical discussions, workshops, and customer design reviews.
  • Translate system requirements into electrical architecture specifications and design guidelines.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with Vertiv sale, business development, product management, product engineering team.
  • Define and develop electrical system drawing, including power distribution, signal integrity, grounding, and protection concepts.
  • Create system block diagrams, interface definitions, and electrical architecture documentation.
  • Perform system-level trade-off analyses (performance, redundancy, scalability, reliability, cost, safety, and fault operation).
  • Support detailed electrical design teams by providing architectural direction and design constraints.
  • Produce and maintain architecture documents, system specifications, and design rationale.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical system and solution design in any of the following areas is desirable:
    • Data center power product development
    • Data center system solution development
    • 800V DC power system development
  • Experience supporting customer-facing engineering projects, experience with regional or global cross-functional teams is preferred.
  • Must have good planning, organizing, documentation and communication skills, excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical system architecture, including power electronics, control systems, and signal integrity.
  • Knowledge of power system key challenge (e.g., LVRT, Arc Flash, Grounding etc.) is advantageous.
  • Clear understating of diverse power and thermal data center infrastructure systems.
  • Experience with system-level design and requirement decomposition.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD, Visio drawing software.
  • Must be team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
