Job Description
Responsible for the bidding process regarding large issues including IT&OT services, solutions, design and manufacturing services. Project manages the bidding process from initial contact through contract signing, with particular emphasis on costing/Pricing control, terms verification. Prepare, validate, and endorse the technical solution.
The Proposal Specialist resource plans & develop a technical /commercial proposal to meet the needs of the customer. The Proposal Specialist resource will develop commercial offers within the framework of our business and financial goals and be compliant with our internal policies. The resource acts as the subject matter expert for the customer, sales organization, and Department. The resource typically has a specialized understanding of related products and comprehensive delivery offerings from RA, partners, and competitors in designated focus areas.
The Proposal Specialist is a technical resource for Rockwell Automation technology, products, services, and solutions. Within their area(s) of expertise, they are capable of articulating value, estimations, and positioning of benefits of portfolio to customers. They deliver and manage commercial offers; provide pre-sales support and advise the sales organization and channel. They are responsible for all bid offer activities for a specific range of products, services and solutions within a defined geography.
You will report to PROPOSAL TEAM LEAD, GRC.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead standardization efforts of proposals and tools for designated products, service or solution which develop by project management methodology.
- Manage stakeholders associated with winning opportunities.
- Work & Influence sales team in the process of filtering IO/OT projects and services opportunities, to achieve win rate target.
- Make LCS sales quotation / proposal and ensure delivering sale proposal for LCS business on time.
- Demonstrate the ability to expand the scope of solutions requested. The candidate attains this achievement when they incorporate the full portfolio of Rockwell Automation offerings, including Connected Services, Process/Power & Control/Information Solutions, Packaged Power, and local Field Labor.
- Management of the process involves implementing proposal development activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, assessing bids, estimating risks, generating proposals, estimating costs, approving proposals, entering orders, generating front log reports, and transferring internally. Collaboration is necessary with different teams, including Sales, Solution Consultants, Sales Specialists, Engineering, Services, and peer proposal teams, both regional and global.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the customer/marketing organization, products, and services, research both technical & commercial proposals to ensure competitive advantage.
- Makes full use of Global estimating tools and Global Engineering Center Proposal resources.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, work closely with the Sale team to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Prepare the solution presentations and responses to customer's inquiries.
- New industry application knowledge transferred to Sales, FBL, LCS engineering team.
- Contribute to the development of marketing collaterals such as brochures, white papers and application notes in specific industries.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical related field or equivalent.
- 5+ years' experience as an estimator, proposal engineer or other contract, project or application engineering-focused position, related experience in a project-oriented environment.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- High level of knowledge in PLC, DCS, Standard Drive, Networks, Industry knowledge, Application Knowledge
- Good English writing and speaking skills.
- Ability to align and influence critical stakeholders6. Passionate about developing goals to improve our customer experience.
- We prefer vertical experience in Chemical & Semi industry.
