Your Team Responsibilities

This position is best suited for a results-driven, self-starter with a strong work ethic and interest in the Investment Finance field, combined with a genuine curiosity and foundational knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and data automation. You will have a unique opportunity to work with a cross-functional global team, build professional connections, and learn the business model and the intricacies of this industry.

 

The main role for this position is to manage the client's relationship for data loading, reconciliation, and risk reporting for their license to MSCI risk management software, while actively contributing to AI-driven automation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure complete and timely upload of client portfolios into MSCI’s proprietary Risk Management products, namely BarraOne and RiskManager.
  • Generate Reconciliation and Quality Assurance reports post-upload of client portfolios and carry out preliminary checks for correctness of the data upload.
  • Support the Managed Services team in their day-to-day tasks, ensuring quality and timeliness of regular deliverables.
  • Contribute to AI and automation initiatives by identifying manual, repetitive workflows and proposing AI-assisted or scripted solutions to enhance operational speed and accuracy.
  • Leverage IT skills (Excel, VBA, and/or Python) to develop automated solutions optimizing client-specific workflows; knowledge of scripting or coding languages is a plus.
  • Use AI tools (e.g., generative AI assistants, prompt engineering, LLM-based workflows) to support data analysis, report generation, and client communication drafting.
  • Set meetings with clients and internal teams to develop production enhancements and reduce manual effort through intelligent automation.
  • Create and update custom reports for internal purposes to ensure best practices are consistently applied across all clients.
  • Gradually gain a deep understanding of Risk Financial Management and Performance Analytics methodologies.
  • Understand the analytics behind different MSCI products and develop deep knowledge of their capabilities and data requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to resolve issues, maintain relationships, and identify opportunities to improve service delivery using technology.
  • Collaborate across global time zones as part of a global team; shift timings may occasionally be earlier or later than regular office hours.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Understanding of global financial markets, financial instruments, and investment risk management principles.
  • Working knowledge of AI concepts and tools, including familiarity with generative AI platforms, large language models (LLMs), or AI-assisted analytics — required.
  • Foundational scripting ability in Python, VBA, or SQL to support data automation initiatives, coding language experience is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and data manipulation techniques.
  • Proactive mindset toward identifying opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work efficiently with diverse cultures on a global team.
  • A self-starter, self-learner, and highly motivated individual who takes initiative independently and within a team.

Desired Experience

2+ years of experience in the financial investment domain, financial data management, or a related technology/operations function.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, or a similar field.
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools, platforms, or coursework (e.g., machine learning fundamentals, prompt engineering, automation workflows).
  • Familiarity with statistical or scripting software such as Python, MATLAB, R, or similar — an added plus.
  • Candidates pursuing certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CAIA will have an added advantage.
  • Interest in or completion of AI-focused certifications or online courses (e.g., Coursera, AWS AI/ML, Google AI Essentials) is welcomed.
