The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Commercial Gas / Mechanical Engineer to join an established team on one of our static sites. The Engineer will be very well-rounded and despite being Gas/Mechanical bias also be confident with building controls and fabric work.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across the FOA buildings on f site, covering systems such as commercial gas boilers, heating systems, water heaters, gas radiant panels and associated controls. The role also involves fault finding, repairs, and installation works
  • Being a Mechanically biased skilled engineer with a sound knowledge of booster pumps, Building Services (water, gas, heating and ventilation, waste), BMS monitoring systems, PPM’s, etc.
  • Having a flexible attitude with a “can do” approach and who is prepared to work outside their skill base to provide a customer-based service.
  • Be prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the Technical Services Manager.
  • Having administration skills to maintain computer based and hard copy systems for statutory inspections and tests.
  • Be able to react and work on their own initiative on an on-call system.
  • Be prepared to work on multiple sites as required

Experience and Qualifications

  • ACS Domestic/Commercial Gas qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT1, HTR1, COCN1 or COCDN1) – essential
  • Commercial gas modules such as CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1A (desirable – training provided if needed)
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating – preferred
  • Current Gas Safe Registration (company supported)
  • Proven experience in gas maintenance, servicing, fault finding, and installation across commercial environments
  • C&G in plumbing/mechanical engineering.
  • Strong fault-finding skills.
  • Experience of being client facing.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Team player
  • Good electrical/Controls knowledge
  • IT literate
  • Driving licence
  • SC Clearance would be desirable
