Job Overview

The Physician Assistant, Street Medicine, provides medical services to clients, ensuring appropriate and professional medical services. Manages assigned patient panel as a part of AltaMed’s Street Medicine program, ensuring high-quality and professional care. The PA conducts patient visits for new and established patients experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, coordinating their care plans with other members of the street medicine team as well as community service providers. The PA visits vary in settings, including street encampments, homeless shelters, and supportive housing sites. This is a unique role for a passionate physician assistant interested in working with unhoused populations.

Minimum Requirements

  • A master’s degree plus graduation from an accredited PA program in the United States is required.

  • Licensure by the State of California as a Physician Assistant.

  • Minimum 1 year of Physician Assistant experience in a community health setting preferred. Will consider a new graduate.

  • Previous experience with unhoused or high-risk populations preferred.

  • Previous experience with computer-based systems required; Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.

  • A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Compensation

$160,680.00 - $200,850.00 annually
