At ARX Robotics, you will help build the localization and sensor fusion systems that power autonomous ground vehicles in complex and unpredictable environments. As a Senior Engineer, Sensor Fusion & Localization, you will develop the core technologies that enable robotic platforms to understand their position, movement, and surroundings with high reliability, even in GPS-denied conditions.
You will work closely with autonomy, perception, software, and hardware teams to bring advanced robotic systems from development to real-world deployment. Your work will directly contribute to the performance, resilience, and operational effectiveness of autonomous and teleoperated vehicles operating in demanding field environments.
What You’ll Build
Develop advanced sensor fusion and state estimation algorithms for autonomous ground systems operating in challenging real-world conditions
Design and implement localization frameworks using EKF, UKF, particle filters, nonlinear observers, and factor graph-based SLAM methods
Fuse and synchronize data from LiDAR, cameras, radar, IMUs, GNSS, magnetometers, and other sensor systems to create robust environmental awareness
Build low-latency, real-time data processing pipelines optimized for autonomous robotic platforms
Develop reliable localization solutions for degraded or denied GNSS environments
Integrate localization and fusion systems with broader autonomy, navigation, and perception stacks
Validate algorithms through simulation, controlled testing, and field deployments in dynamic outdoor environments
Investigate and resolve complex sensor, calibration, synchronization, and state estimation challenges
Prototype and deploy new approaches for multi-sensor fusion and autonomous navigation
Contribute to the evolution of robotics, AI, and autonomous system capabilities within a fast-moving defense technology environment
What You Bring
Advanced academic background (MSc or higher) in Robotics, Computer Vision, Autonomous Systems, or a related engineering field
Strong software engineering skills in C++ and experience debugging complex robotics systems
Deep understanding of sensor fusion, localization, and state estimation techniques including EKF, UKF, particle filters, and factor graphs
Experience working with visual odometry, inertial navigation, and robotics perception systems
Hands-on experience integrating and calibrating multi-sensor systems including LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, GNSS, and radar
Strong foundation in linear algebra, probability, estimation theory, and 3D geometry
Confidence working with ROS2, simulation environments, and robotics validation workflows
Experience developing software within Linux-based systems using modern engineering practices, version control, and CI/CD pipelines
Curiosity and motivation to build reliable autonomy systems with real operational impact
Experience with CUDA or edge computing optimization are beneficial
Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
