Job Description:
TD Securities is looking for an experienced operations professional to join a high-performing Global Equity Derivatives Operations team. This role is suited for an individual who can operate independently, take ownership of operational risk, influence internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to strategic process improvements. The successful candidate will support strong execution across trade lifecycle processes, help identify control and efficiency opportunities, and play an active role in coaching, knowledge-sharing, and leading initiatives that enhance client service while reducing risk.
Department Overview
With offices located around the world, the strength of TD Securities Global Operations and Business Services lies in the diverse and dynamic group of individuals who provide critical infrastructure services that support and/or control the trading, investment and corporate banking functions of TD Securities.
The Global Equity Derivatives team is part of Global Operations and Business Services and partners with multiple Sales & Trading teams and other areas within TD Securities globally to mitigate risk for the Dealer and our clients. We are a global team responsible for managing operational risk to protect accuracy and efficiency at every step of the trade lifecycle. The team is heavily involved in strategic initiatives and projects, business development, and process improvements to optimize efficiency, enhance client service levels, and reduce risk.
Role
- Develop and maintain sound working relationships with our clients and internal groups to ensure a high level of service is provided on an ongoing basis.
- Overall accountability and governance of cash break investigations liaising with clients, correspondent banks, front office and other partners to resolve within procedural guidelines.
- Ensure all settlement issues are identified and resolved accordingly with the required guidelines.
- Provide a high level of customer service to our clients acting as a point of contact for all customer inquiries.
- Report and escalate all technology issues, client issues, Sales & Trading issues and failed trades to management accordingly.
- Assist with resolving operational issues by determining appropriate resolution and root cause analysis to ensure the Bank/clients are not exposed to any significant risk, penalty or loss.
Job Requirements
- Ideally 5+ years of progressive experience within capital markets, preferably in an Operational space.
- Reconciliation experience with an understanding of accounting/general ledger management.
- End-to-end understanding of the equities and options trade lifecycle.
- Proven experience in process and project management, with a focus on reconciliation workflow improvements.
- Experience supporting group management through cross-training, coaching, and knowledge-sharing.
- Knowledge of payment systems and their interaction with the trade lifecycle.
- Highly developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills along with an inquisitive mindset to question processes.
- Experience running custodial reconciliations.
- Experience with Sophis, Kyndryl, or OMS systems is considered an asset.
- Technical skills in automation and data analytics are considered an asset, including experience with tools such as VBA, Tableau, Alteryx, Python, and UiPath.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and guide issue resolution across internal and external partners.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or cross-training team members to support knowledge-sharing and operational readiness.
- Strong judgment and ability to assess risk, determine appropriate escalation paths, and support timely decision-making.
- Ability to lead small initiatives, process improvements, or control enhancements that improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders, front office, custodians, technology teams, and internal control partners.
Education/Accreditations:
- University or college degree in STEM related field.
- Securities accreditation is an asset.
