Clinic

The Clinic Supervisor at MercyOne, supports the delivery of patient-centered care by overseeing clinical operations, guiding staff performance, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards. This position fosters a collaborative and professional work environment, promotes continuous improvement, and ensures efficient clinic workflows. The Hem Onc Supervisor assists with hiring, training, and evaluating clinical staff, supports budget management, and coordinates with clinic leadership to implement protocols and operational changes. Through effective communication and leadership, they enhance the quality of care and patient experience across the clinic

Schedule:

  • Full time 40 hours a week
  • 8:00a- 4:30p
  • no weekends no Holidays

General Requirements:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.  
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, coaching and appraising performance of specific clinical staff. Responsible for scheduling, orienting, training, and developing assigned colleagues. Responsible for reporting hours worked for payroll purposes.
  • Works with individual clinic management to evaluate, monitor and enforce clinic specific protocols, procedures and objectives. Assists in a variety of clinic specific functions to facilitate effective and efficient flow of services throughout the clinic (i.e. reception, accounting, lab, and nursing).
  • Ensures charging/reimbursement changes are integrated into every level of clinic operations by coordinating with the clinic team and monitoring outcomes.
  • Promotes an environment of Patient Centered Care, building a team that promotes a positive patient experience with each encounter.
  • Assists in the development of the clinic budget. Monitors utilization of staff and supplies and makes appropriate adjustments to meet the budget. Reconciles and/or prepares daily bank deposits.
  • Monitors clinic specific compliance with MCI Policies implementing plans as needed. Reviews and makes recommendations to director on possible revisions to the MCI policies.
  • Promotes team concept among all staff in clinic. Utilizes effective verbal and nonverbal communication to ensure problems, possible solutions and final solutions are understood and accepted by all affected staff members and patients. Demonstrates functional knowledge of essential functions for the job classes that are directly supervised.
  • Ensures mandatory education requirements for assigned staff are met, including mentoring and training of staff on changes in the health care environment.
  • Maintains supply inventory and stocks supplies in various work areas.
  • Demonstrates functional knowledge of essential functions for the job classes that are directly supervised.
  • Monitors and maintains licensure certification requirements for assigned staff are met.
  • Up to 49% of the role may be functioning in the capacity of staff.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned by the director.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

Education:

  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. 
  • Required the ability to read, write, and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues while performing their job duties. 
  • Current license or certification as RN.
  • Two years’ experience in a clinic/physician office.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.
  • Knowledge of CPT codes, billing and collection practices, fee structures, and practice standards
  • Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, and office management computer program experience
  • Experience setting goals, defining objectives, and working directly with physicians
  • Financial background including use of spreadsheets, preparing financial reports, analyzing financial information, and preparing budgets
  • Extensive quality assurance background with a proven commitment to high standards of performance
  • Experience with applicable state and federal regulatory agencies and occupational health safety laws governing clinic operations.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
