The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will execute end-to-end procurement processes, including requisition review, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract finalization.
2. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring their performance and conducting regular evaluations.
3. You will identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the procurement process without compromising quality or service.
4. You will prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
5. You will collaborate with internal departments (e.g., engineering, production, finance) to understand material and service requirements and ensure timely fulfillment.
6. You will conduct market research to identify new suppliers and innovative products or services that align with company objectives.
7. You will resolve supplier issues, discrepancies, and disputes effectively and professionally.
8. You will maintain accurate procurement records, databases, and reports.
9. You will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, ethical standards, and company procurement policies.

10. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles, preferably within the manufacturing or energy sector.
3. Proven negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
5. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
8. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a significant plus.
