Job Summary:

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of critical facilities mechanical systems, including HVAC, Compressed Dry Air, Vacuum, Process Cooling, Exhaust, and Cleanroom systems. This role serves as the system owner and technical expert, providing engineering support to manufacturing, safety, and project teams while ensuring system performance, capacity planning, regulatory compliance, and cost optimization. The incumbent leads facilities-related projects, conducts troubleshooting and root cause analysis, manages budgets, reviews engineering designs, and drives continuous improvements to support wafer fabrication operations and future business expansion. The position ensures compliance with applicable legal, environmental, safety, and industry standards, including RBA requirements and local regulatory authorities such as DOSH and DOE.


 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


1. System owner for Facilities Mechanical System including HVAC, Compressed Dry Air, Vacuum, Process Cooling, Exhaust and Cleanroom.
2. Provide technical guidance to manufacturing, safety and project team on mechanical system capabilities, concern and troubleshooting.
3. Act as project coordinator for replacement, upgrading, expansion or modification of buildings, utilities and services within the wafer fab related to mechanical system.
4. Assist in major faciltiies projects through preparation of drawings, specifications, material requests and work orders.
5. Monitor and maintain capacity vs demand tracking for mechanical system to ensure ability to meet future expansion needs. 
6. Responsible to maintain Mechanical system in good working condition and execute improvement for system reliability improvement and cost optimization.
7. Ensure compliance with applicable local laws, regulations, procedures, and standards/codes including RBA, MS, DOSH, DOE, and internal controls.
8. Responsible for mechanical system operation, maintenance and engineering.
9. Investigate facility issues reported by users, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
10. Conduct engineering surveys and prepare technical reports related to facilities engineering projects.
11. Review and evaluate designs prepared by consulting engineers.
12. Budget forecast preparation for mechanical system operation, maintenance and engineering project.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related.

Experience
1. Minimum 5-10 years experience in Facilities Operation, Maintenance or Engineering.
2. Experience in a semiconductor manufacturing/wafer fab facilities environment is an added advantage.
3. Familiar with Facilities mechanical system operation, maintenance or engineering including cleanroom environment.
 

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
1. Expert in mechanical system operation, maintenance and engineering.
2. Strong knowledge of engineering methods, practices, and facilities systems.
3. Basic to working knowledge of AI concepts, data analytics, and digital tools as applied to facilities engineering (e.g. condition monitoring, anomaly detection, trend analysis).
4. Ability to interpret data outputs from AI‑enabled or automated systems to support engineering decisions.
5. Strong technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
6. Ability to prepare complex designs, specifications, contracts, and cost estimates including capital and maintenance expenditures.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
8. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
