About The Role
The Principal Officer (PO) will be accountable for overseeing the overall activities performed by the IFSC entity including governance, regulatory liaison, and end-to-end operational management of the Company’s capital market activities in GIFT City (IFSC). This role ensures strict adherence to IFSCA regulations while facilitating the business development and efficient functioning of the IFSC business.
The Principal Officer will supervise daily operations, act as the primary regulatory liaison, and guarantee that the Company functions within a compliant, well-controlled framework, effectively balancing regulatory mandates with business objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee governance and operational management of the Company’s activities in GIFT City.
- Serve as the primary interface with IFSCA, stock exchanges, and other relevant regulators, including managing regulatory communications, inspections, and inquiries.
- Supervise day-to-day financial operations, including client money management, remittance processing, trade settlements, reconciliations, and operational risk controls.
- Supervise strict segregation of client assets and funds in line with regulatory guidelines.
- Oversee and ensure effective AML/KYC procedures, client onboarding, and transaction monitoring.
- Coordinating with auditors to facilitate timely and thorough audits.
- Oversee effective implementation of Standard Operating Procedures covering operational and regulatory functions.
- Collaborate closely with business, product, technology, and operations teams to facilitate new product launches, support integration with partners, etc.
- Establish and sustain a compliant operating environment that supports growth while maintaining rigorous governance and controls.
You Bring
- Education and Professional Qualification: Professionally qualified individual and a member of ICAI / ICSI / ICMAI, or holder of a post-graduate qualification or diploma (minimum one year) in finance, law, accountancy, business management, commerce, economics, capital markets, banking, insurance, actuarial science fintech, science, technology, engineering, mathematics from a recognized university or institution (central/state government recognized or foreign recognized institution); or qualifications such as CFA, FRM or any other certification approved by the Authority and Experience: with minimum 3 years of experience in the financial services market; or
- Education and Professional Qualification: Graduation degree from a recognized university in any field from a university or an institution recognised by the Central Government or any State Government or a foreign university and Experience: with minimum 5 years of relevant financial services market experience.
- Extensive experience in capital markets operations within regulated environments is preferred.
- Strong expertise in capital market regulations, with a particular focus on IFSCA regulatory frameworks, operational controls, and corporate governance structures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex operational processes with accuracy and discipline.
- Sound regulatory judgment with the capability to balance compliance requirements with business enablement.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across regulators, internal teams, and external partners.
- High levels of integrity, accountability, and operational discipline.

Pay is generally based on the level, complexity, responsibility, location, and job duties/requirements of the specific position.
