**Software Engineer – Research Platform (Chicago)** We're partnering with a leading quantitative trading firm to hire multiple Software Engineers into a team responsible for building the infrastructure that powers quantitative research across the business. The team develops distributed systems, compute platforms and developer tooling that enable researchers to run large-scale simulations, process massive datasets and scale thousands of experiments efficiently. **You'll work on:** - Distributed systems and platform infrastructure - Compute, scheduling and workflow orchestration - Data-intensive applications and research tooling - Performance, scalability and reliability challenges - Building platforms used directly by researchers and engineers **We're interested in speaking to engineers with experience in:** - Distributed Systems - Platform Engineering - Compute / ML Infrastructure - Data Platforms - Cloud Infrastructure **Tech stack:** Python and Rust/C/C++ **Requirements:** - 1+ years of software engineering experience - Strong computer science fundamentals - Experience building scalable systems, platforms or infrastructure - Strong problem-solving and system design skills Salary/Total Compensation: Open - based on expectations, performance and seniority
