Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end UI automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript, ensuring scalability, reusability, and maintainability.
- Build and enhance API automation solutions using Python and pytest for REST, GraphQL, and SOAP services.
- Develop reusable testing components, fixtures, client abstractions, and parameterized test suites to maximize automation efficiency.
- Maintain and optimize Postman and Newman collections for API smoke testing, contract validation, and regression coverage.
- Integrate automated test suites into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing initiatives across development workflows.
- Configure and manage smoke, sanity, functional, and regression test execution strategies to improve release confidence.
- Design and maintain WireMock stubs and service virtualization solutions to support microservices testing and contract validation.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate automation delivery, generate test artifacts, identify coverage gaps, and improve engineering productivity.
- Review and validate AI-generated code to ensure quality, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, perform peer code reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality engineering function.
- Document automation frameworks, testing processes, and best practices to promote knowledge sharing across teams.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), Automation Engineer, or related quality engineering role.
- Strong expertise in end-to-end UI automation using Playwright and TypeScript.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Python and pytest for API automation development.
- Proven experience testing REST APIs, including request validation, response verification, schema validation, and chained workflows.
- Working knowledge of GraphQL testing, including queries, mutations, variables, and schema validation techniques.
- Familiarity with SOAP API testing methodologies and enterprise integration scenarios.
- Experience integrating automation frameworks into Jenkins-based CI/CD environments.
- Hands-on experience with WireMock or comparable service virtualization and mocking solutions.
- Strong understanding of Git workflows, pull request processes, and version control best practices.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent tools.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in distributed teams.
- Experience with Postman, Newman, AWS environments, Linux shell scripting, or microservices architectures is considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with Java, Selenium, performance testing tools, Spring Boot services, or ISTQB certification will be considered a plus.
- Previous experience within hospitality, travel, booking, eCommerce, or other high-transaction environments is desirable.
