What You Will Do

As a Manager EH&S Generalist, you will use your education and professional work experience in the EH&S technical or management field and your strength in compliance programs to influence, develop and manage occupational health and environmental programs and related initiatives in a competitive and fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.

You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence various groups including engineers, factory line employees, EH&S team members and management located at 4 sites within commuting distance of Raytheon’s Cityline - Richardson, TX facility.  

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Managing and continuously improving Federal, State and Local EH&S compliance programs and Raytheon risk reduction initiatives including, but not limited to JHAs, Qualitative Risk Assessments, Incident reporting, Contractors, Solid and Hazardous Waste management, Sustainability programs, Audits and Inspections, managing contractors, wastewater, stormwater, and air emissions.

  • Partnering with site EH&S professionals to exceed core requirements and bring operations beyond compliance

  • Overseeing the preparation and submission of deliverable reports and directly support outward-facing interactions with regulators and other jurisdictional authorities.
    Performing a variety of EH&S related inspections to maintain internal audit readiness

  • Ensuring waste management activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations

  • Oversight of refrigerant and air management programs

  • Supporting implementation of process-focused improvements

  • Reviewing first aid and OSHA injury investigations as well as conducting root cause analyses / developing corrective actions and tracking to completion

  • Supporting the improvement of business and site EH&S communications plan

  • Developing and delivering EHS training to affected employees and contractors

  • Daily interpretation and application of internal Raytheon and external (e.g., OSHA, EPA, TCEQ) standards and regulations

  • Assisting with emergency drills

  • Participating in HazMat and Medical emergency response, with appropriate training

  • Weekly local travel (by car) will be required to support Enterprise and business initiatives.

  • This job is ONSITE and is based at Raytheon’s Cityline facility in Richardson TX.


Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

  • Team / Project leadership experience

  • Experience with State and Federal environmental compliance rules (e.g. TCEQ, EPA)

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in occupational health, chemistry, industrial or environmental engineering

  • Experience in effectively organizing and managing multiple projects and programs in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to plan, organize, delegate, and follow-up on workflow in a team environment to meet departmental goals and objectives

  • Experience with databases and use of other information gathering systems

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
