Software Development Engineer 5

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java backend development and large-scale data handling. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize high-performance backend services and data processing pipelines while ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. You will collaborate within multi-functional teams to build robust enterprise-grade applications and data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise applications.
• Design and implement efficient data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines.
• Work with large datasets and optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing.
• Develop high-performance, resilient, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop high-quality code, participate in design reviews, and mentor junior engineers. Improve production reliability and support CI/CD and cloud deployments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related area, or the equivalent experience.
• 6–10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 11/17 or later).
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, etc.).
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering protocols.

• Participate in code reviews, technical design, and mentor junior engineers.

• Resolve production issues while improving system performance and reliability.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments.
