PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Assistant Manager – Business Integrity is a key member of HUL’s Business Integrity (BI) function, supporting the Business Integrity Officer in driving an ethical, compliant and values-led organisation. The role spans investigations support, policy management, reporting, training and internal communications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Investigations Support
• Support end-to-end management of integrity investigations, including intake, documentation, fact-finding coordination and closure.
• Maintain the investigations tracker; ensure timeliness, quality and confidentiality of records.
• Liaise with cross-functional stakeholders (HR, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain) to facilitate efficient case resolution.
• Assist in preparing investigation reports and management summaries for leadership review.
• Monitor implementation of remediation actions arising from concluded investigations.
B. Policy Management
• Support the periodic review, update and communication of BI-related policies, including the Code of Business Principles and supporting standards.
• Manage the policy lifecycle – drafting, consultation, approval, publication and version control.
• Monitor compliance with mandatory requirements and escalate gaps.
C. Reporting & Analytics
• Prepare periodic BI dashboards and reports for the Business Integrity Officer, senior leadership and Unilever global teams.
• Maintain and analyse data on speak-up reports, investigation outcomes, training completion and policy attestations.
• Support preparation of Board/Audit Committee submissions relating to Business Integrity.
• Identify trends and insights to inform the BI function’s annual priorities.
D. Training & Capability Building
• Design and deliver BI training programmes – e-learning modules, workshops, manager briefings – across business functions.
• Manage the annual BI training calendar and track completion against targets.
• Develop customised training content for high-risk functions.
• Act as a point of contact for employee queries on integrity and ethics matters.
E. Communications
• Plan and execute the BI communications calendar – newsletters, Speak Up awareness campaigns, Ethics Day, leadership messages.
• Draft internal communications in clear, engaging language for diverse employee audiences.
• Coordinate with HR and Corporate Communications to amplify BI messaging across channels.
• Maintain and update the BI intranet pages and resource library.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualifications & Experience
• LLB / LLM from a reputed institution; additional qualifications in compliance, ethics or management are a plus.
• 5–8 years of experience in compliance, business integrity, legal or risk functions – preferably in an MNC.
• Prior exposure to investigation processes or regulatory compliance will be an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong analytical and structured thinking with an ability to connect data to actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication – able to distil complex compliance matters for general audiences.
• High degree of integrity, discretion and ability to handle sensitive information.
• Stakeholder management skills; comfortable working across functions and seniority levels.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with case management systems is a plus.
• Self-starter with strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
