Collins Aerospace is seeking a Sr. Supervisor, Logistics to join the Sterling, VA team to oversee end‑to‑end logistics activities, drive operational excellence, and support a high‑performing team in a fast‑paced environment.
What You Will Do:
- Manage the shipping, receiving, and materials & inventory management for the site.
- Manage a team of material handlers and shipping & receiving personnel
- Trains direct reports to ensure policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed.
- Accountable for accurate, complete, and compliant material receipts, both physically and in in SAP.
- Accountable for accurate, complete, and compliant shipments, both physically and in SAP.
- Responsible for ensuring cost-effective, on-time delivery via coordination of transportation with approved carriers.
- Ensure all shipments meet Global Trade (export & import) and DOT regulatory requirements.
- In conjunction with engineering and/or 3PL, responsible for suitable packaging/crating of items for shipments.
- Guides materials management and logistics activities to ensure materials are effectively stocked and deployed.
- Implements and monitors inventory control systems to ensure effective logistics deployment.
- Manages material inventory, including the inventory induction and inventory issuance processes.
- Manage the inventory cycle count process to ensure availability of materials. Accountable for ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Troubleshoots and reconciles large inventory and receipt discrepancies to ensure compliance of standards to ensure effective materials management and smooth logistics deployment.
- Ensure and maintain organization and 5S of shipping/receiving areas and warehouses/stock rooms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality, Contracts, Customer Service, Program Management, EHS, Security, and Global Trade.
- Utilize Lean Principles to identify, develop and implement improvement opportunities
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires a U.S. Secret Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
- Experience with managing shipping/receiving and/or inventory management in an ERP system.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in the Aerospace and/or Defense Industry
- Experience with SAP
- Experience with logistics, including international shipments/exports from the United States, in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
- Current DOD Secret Clearance

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
