A Day in the Life
The Senior Manager, Program Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the functional leadership, development, and performance of a team of project management specialists supporting both New Product Development (NPD) and released product management (RPM) programs. This leader drives excellence in program execution, portfolio delivery, talent development, and PMO maturity while ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, business objectives, and patient needs. The role combines people leadership with strategic operational oversight, ensuring project management resources, tools, processes, and capabilities are effectively deployed across a diverse portfolio within the Interventional Cardiology Therapies PMO team.

A Day in The Life Of:
Functional Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Project and Program Managers supporting product development and released product portfolios
- Establish clear performance expectations, career development plans, succession strategies, and competency development programs
- Conduct performance management, talent reviews, workforce planning, and employee engagement activities
- Build organizational capability through training, best practice sharing, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and patient-centered decision making
PMO Excellence & Operational Leadership
- Drive standardization and adoption of project management processes, methodologies, tools, templates, and governance practices
- Lead initiatives to improve PMO efficiency, scalability, and organizational effectiveness
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of Product Development Process (PDP), Design Controls, and business process requirements
- Champion lessons learned, knowledge management, and continuous improvement across the PMO organization
Success in this role will be demonstrated by:
- Predictable execution and delivery of NPD and released-product portfolios in alignment with strategic business priorities
- Development and retention of high-performing project management talent
- Increased PMO capability, process maturity, and organizational efficiency
- Strong stakeholder satisfaction and effective cross-functional partnerships
Key Skills & Experience
- Requires a level 8 degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
- Requires broad management knowledge to lead team members supporting project teams
- Typically has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function
- Experience supporting both new product development and released product programs
- Demonstrated success working on cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
- Knowledge of Design Controls, Product Development Process (PDP), Quality Systems, and regulatory requirements
- Strong executive communication and change leadership skills
Nice to Have Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA, Engineering, Science, or related discipline).
- PMP, Agile, or equivalent project management certification.
- Medical device, healthcare, or highly regulated industry experience.
- Experience leading PMO transformations, portfolio governance, or organizational capability-building initiatives.
