DoubleTree by Hilton Malta is looking for a dedicated Safety and Security Manager to oversee and manage all security aspects of our property, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests and members. As part of the Head of Department team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest safety standards.
What will I be doing?
- Review, maintain, and ensure compliance with all existing safety and security policies and procedures, including evacuation plans, to safeguard guests, team members, and hotel property.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to promptly identify and address potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Lead and deliver all hotel Security & Safety training programmes.
- Oversee and maintain security systems, including alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control systems.
Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services during security incidents.
- Perform regular inspections to identify hazards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Remain up to date with industry best practices, legislation, and regulations related to safety and security.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with external security providers and vendors.
- Work closely with all departments to address safety and security concerns or requests raised by guests and team members.
- Monitor, analyse, and report security and incident data to management, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel car park, ensuring a safe, secure, and efficient environment for guests, visitors, and team members.
- Monitor all safety and security aspects of the car park, including CCTV systems, access control, lighting, signage, incident response procedures, and regular risk assessments.
- Manage car park-related contracts and liaise with external contractors and service providers regarding maintenance, repairs, and operational requirements.
- Support the administration and financial management of the Safety & Security department, including budgeting, P&L monitoring, reporting, and departmental records.
What are we looking for?
- At least 5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably within the hospitality industry
- Proficiency in security systems and protocols, including CCTV, access control, and emergency response
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle high-stress situations and make quick decisions
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to safety and security
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages, especially Maltese, is a plus
- Flexible approach to working hours, including availability to work weekends, public holidays, as required by operational needs.
- A professional certification in health and safety management is highly desirable
