Hard Services Maintenance Manager - JLL
What this job involves: The Hard Services Maintenance Manager is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting the Facility Manager in the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all building engineering systems in accordance with JLL standards and client expectations. This role leads the maintenance team while providing technical expertise across HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and critical building systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader who leads and mentors technical teams, drives continuous improvement, and delivers operational excellence through proactive maintenance and exceptional client service.
What the day-to-day will look like:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Systems technicians.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and complex equipment failures.
- Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime through effective preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Oversee maintenance of HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Building Automation Systems (BAS), Life Safety Systems, and critical building infrastructure.
- Optimize CMMS performance by improving preventive maintenance programs, work order quality, asset history, and maintenance planning.
- Partner with Reliability Engineers and Operations teams to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Lead contractors and vendors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, local building codes, environmental regulations, and company safety standards.
- Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs and extend equipment life.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive maintenance or facilities engineering experience.
- 3+ years leading maintenance or engineering teams.
- Proven ability to provide strong leadership, build high-performing teams, and develop effective relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and air compressors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in GMP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, data center, semiconductor, or other critical facilities environments.
- Mechanical equipment, rotating assets, and associated maintenance best practices.
- Electrical distribution systems and motor controls.
- CMMS platforms (Maximo) & Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS).
- Preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Capital projects and equipment lifecycle planning.
Location: East Syracuse, NY

Estimated compensation for this position:
100,000.00 – 115,000.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
