This vacancy is for a GS-2150-12, Port Operations Coordinator located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OFFICE OF NAVAL ENGINEERING in Baltimore, MD.
You will serve as a Port Operations Coordinator and be responsible for for providing support for the shipyard's waterfront operations.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Works with commercial tug boat operators to maneuver or tow vessels into port through bridge passes to wharfs and into drydock. Pilots Coast Guard crewed vessels from Chesapeake Bay into Curtis creek to moor at piers, wharfs or guide into drydock. Participates in contingency planning and execution for adverse weather or high-water events. Responds to logistics support requests made by arriving vessels. Keeps Production Manager appraised of visiting Coast Guard Cutters or other government vessels This position requires the following licenses prior to appointment. - USCG License - Master of Self-Propelled Vessels less than 1600 GRT - USCG License - Master of Towing Vessels Upon Coastal or Inland Waters
